Tournament Format

The full rule book is available to members in the Member Portal. The summary below covers what every angler — new or returning — needs to know before showing up at the ramp.

Draw format

• Computerized draw. Every event is a draw — Boaters and Co-Anglers are paired by random computer draw before the tournament. Friends who join together are not guaranteed to be paired; the draw is genuinely random.
• Co-Anglers welcome. Many of our members don't own a boat. Co-Anglers pay their Boater an additional lake-specific Fair Share Fee that covers boat operating expenses (gas, maintenance proportional to distance traveled). Fair Share amounts are posted before each event.
• Five-fish limit, 13-inch minimum on largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass. Lake-specific minimums apply where state regulations differ.
• Hours. Blast-off is at Safe Light or the time posted in the schedule. Weigh-in time is announced at the morning meeting. One minute late = penalty per the rule book.
• Live release. All fish must be weighed alive. Dead fish penalty applies per the rule book.

AOY points & payouts

• Year-to-date AOY standings are posted in the Member Portal beginning May 2026.
• Tournament payouts go back to top finishers per the rule book.
• Cash, trophy, and bragging rights for the season-long Angler of the Year.

Boat & safety

• USCG-approved life jacket worn whenever the combustion engine is running. No exceptions.
• Kill switch attached to the operator at all times underway.
• Working aerated live well required. We will check.
• Current Arizona fishing license, watercraft registration, and insurance — period.
• Members must be 18 years of age or older.

How to Enter

1. Be a member. Apply on the Membership page. Annual dues are $40 ($43 if paid online).
2. Sign up online before the deadline. Tournament entry is $60 ($63 if paid online), plus the lake-specific Fair Share Fee for Co-Anglers.
3. Submit your liability waiver with your application. Online applications include the waiver automatically.
4. Show up Wednesday morning 30 minutes before blast-off. Sign in, draw partner, run safety check, fish.
